“Thank you to CL&L because I've made a lot of personal friends. I'm very happy to be part of this group of like-minded people. It’s been a wonderful experience.”
“I really enjoy the classes very, very much. I'm so happy to have participated for many years, starting at Marymount and now here. The courses are fantastic. It’s really filled a void, especially during hard times. I congratulate everyone on the board.”
“Why do I attend CL&L? It is the best bargain in town!!! Fascinating interactive classes, totally engaging teachers and very involved students.”
The Center for Learning & Living, Inc. (CL&L) is a special lifelong learning program. We are a nonprofit organization for people 55+, offering non-credit weekday daytime classes on a wide range of subjects: current events and issues, culture and the arts, and historical views. Faculty members are academics and other experts. Our live classes invite active student participation and interaction.
We were founded at Marymount Manhattan College in 1994 and are affiliated with the College now as an independent organization. Since our founding, students have enjoyed intellectual stimulation in a lively, informal atmosphere.
CL&L offers 8-week semesters in fall, winter and spring, with 3 daytime classes each on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Topics include the timely and the timeless. Our spring semester program is 8 weeks.
Students design their own curriculum, enrolling in unlimited classes for one tuition fee per semester. They can come to additional classes whenever they choose.
